We have only a limited number of volunteering positions to join our dedicated staff and stunning birds of prey. As a volunteer you will be involved in a variety of jobs including cleaning, preparing food and general DIY tasks. Individuals who prove themselves to be capable and reliable will be able to handle the birds, however this is not the main aspect of the role.
Volunteering can be used to supplement a training course or college certification such as Animal Management or the Raptor Award. We can also take on students who require work experience or are completing their Duke of Edinburgh Award. If you are considering owning your own bird of prey, volunteering can be a good place to start to get an idea about what is involved. However, in order to gain the full depth of knowledge and hands on experience to be able to look after and train your own bird, we thoroughly recommend enrolling on a training course.
The role suits individuals who are:
- Able to take instruction
- Able to drive or reach us by other transport
- Not too squeamish!
